Riding through old volcanic rocks and birch forest

A 1.5-hour ride in diverse Icelandic landscapes

Get away from the cities, traffic and crowds and experience Iceland at its finest. Meet our sturdy horses and see the nature from their backs while we guide you through a birch forest, volcanic landscapes and over a small river.

Upon arrival at our farm we show you our reception where you get a helmet and chance to use a restroom before we head out to our horses. Here you will get a quick introduction on how to control the horses and what to have in mind while riding.

Then the fun begins!

We start the ride from our paddock and follow an old stone fence which is worth noticing, it is even in use up to this day.

Further down the path we have to cross a small river to get to the farmtracks which leads us into the birch forest. This forest has used a couple of thousand years to become strong after the whole area was flooded with lava. You can still see quite some vulcanic formations here and there during the ride and even some areas where no forest or vegetation has been able to settle.

This ride is suitable for most riders, both beginners and confident ones. We certainly will do some tölt, the amazing gate of the iclandic horse, but the tour is quite chilled with a relaxed speed.

The ride itself is approximatly 1 1/2 hour so it is good to calculate the whole expirence to 2 hours.

Amazing experience

Top places in Iceland! People were so warm and amazing! Ponies were well taken care of and the scenary was unimaginable! We got great horses and went for a three hour experienced ride. Did great gallops and tölts around lava fields. No negative comments what so ever! It is a must see!

Fun experience in fantastic landscapes!

I'm a beginner at riding and was a bit nervous about the riding tour, but Tora made me relax and feel comfortable. Her horses seem to also be used to beginners. The horse farm and surroundings are so beautiful, so the whole experience was very nice. I would definitely recommend it.

Time well spent

I have always been scared of the horses, but not anymore. After this amazing ride with the cutest horse ever I am looking forward to riding with an Icelandic horse again. We had the most enjoyable evening with those magnificent creatures.

The real feel of Iceland

We arrived without reservations and the owner took care of us immediately. Our three kids had an experience that they will remember for a lifetime. Even though they have not ridden before, were given a quick lesson and the nice horses were an easy ride for the kids. The very charming family farm was a great atmosphere to provide a down to earth feeling of Iceland. While the kids went for a ride, we took a nice walk and checked out other farm animals. Would definitely recommend.
